Designed to compete in the up to two-liter class, this car was painted French Racing Blue for the original owner, Fran├žois Picard, who took delivery of the car in May 1955. In November, as a Ferrari team entry, this car took a class win at the 1st Gran Prix of Venezuela. One month later, the car went on to class wins in two races at Nassau, Bahamas. This car is the first Series II car imported into the U.S. and quickly garnered another class win at the March 1956, Twelve Hours of Sebring. Following a complete restoration begun in 2000, this Ferrari was judged to be a 100-point car, winning its class at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2008, and was awarded, by Piero Ferrari, the Enzo Ferrari Trophy for the Best Ferrari in the field.
