The owner’s father purchased this standard-bodied Packard from a dealer in Columbia, South Carolina, in October 1928 for $3,650. This car, produced in July 1928, was one of the last Model 4-43s built. The owner’s brother drove the car to high school in 1955 and 1956, but parts were virtually impossible to find and maintaining the car was a challenge. Consequently, the car was sold in 1956 for $337.50 to Jake Nelson, who kept the car in his extensive collection until his death in 1990. In 2004, the car, which had never been restored, was located and the current owner was able to purchase the car. Murray Motor Car in Monroe, Washington, performed a frame-off restoration over four years. This car has won numerous prestigious awards nationwide.
