This Chrysler has a factory close-coupled sedan body. Options on the car include dual side-mounts, etched wind wings, and a radiator stone guard. The car features a 9-main bearing, straight 8-cylinder engine, a 4-speed transmission, and 4-wheel hydraulic brakes. The 1931 Imperial CG was Chrysler’s entry into the world of oversized and powerful luxury automobiles that competed successfully with the best from Cadillac, Lincoln, Pierce-Arrow, and Stutz. In 1973, noted Chrysler collector Paul Stern restored this car, which won Antique Automobile Club of America (aaca) 1st Place and Classic Car Club of America (ccca) Primary 1st Place awards soon after its restoration.
