1967 FERRARI 275 GTS/4 NART SPYDER

Owned by Lawrence Auriana of Greenwich, Connecticut

One of the most exclusive cars in Ferrari history, the 275 GTS/4NART Spyder was built at the request of Luigi Chinetti and his North American Racing Team (NART), who wanted a Spyder version of the 275 GTB with an all-alloy body. Coachbuilder Scaglietti built only ten 275 GTS/4 Spyders. This first car was sent to Chinetti in time for the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1967 and was driven by Denise McCluggage and Marianne “Pinky” Rollo to a 2nd in class finish. This 275 GTS/4 appeared with new Ferrari Red paint in the 1968 motion picture, The Thomas Crown Affair, staring Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen. Later, this car was returned to its original Pale Yellow color. Road & Track called the NART Spyder “the most satisfying sports car in the world.”
