1955 Norton Manx

Owned by Chick Hancock, Sandia Park, New Mexico

Arguably the most successful road racing motorcycle of all time, the 500 cc Norton Manx won its first world championship in 1950, and was continuing to place well in Grand Prix racing even after production ceased in 1963.  Its light weight and excellent handling afforded by its "featherbed" frame, enabled it to best multi-cyclinder rivals such as the MV Augusta Four.  Sporting a museum quality restoration, this motorcycle work of art is usually displayed in the living room of its fortunate owner.
