1953 Mercedes 300S Cabriolet

Owned by Rare Precious Metals Collection, Boston, Massachusetts

Mercedes-Benz developed the 300S to establish a line of personal luxury cars after WWII. It debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 1951 and was offered as a cabriolet, roadster and coupe. The 300S bears an unmistakable styling resemblance to the supercharged models of the 1930's. Its 6-cylinder engine produces 150 horsepower and an estimated top speed was 176 km/h. Only 203 300 S Cabriolets were produced. A restoration of this car was completed in 1998 by Paul Russell and Company and it has been driven only 2300 miles since then.
