Al Unser’s accomplishments are many. He has led the most laps of any driver in the history of the Indianapolis 500, at 644; holds the record of being the oldest driver to ever win the 500 at 47 years old (1987); won two 500 mile races at Pocono (1976 and 1978) and two more at Ontario (1977 and 1978) bringing his total of 500 mile race wins (including four Indianapolis 500s) to eight.

Parnelli Jones is most remembered for his accomplishments at the Indianapolis 500. In 1962, he became the first driver to qualify over 150 mph. He won the race in 1963, then famously broke down while leading the 1967 race with three laps to go in a turbine car. During his career as an owner, he won the Indy 500 in 1970–1971 with driver Al Unser, Sr.

Johnny Rutherford will make his first visit to Santa Fe Concorso this year to take part in the Legends of the Brickyard event. He is a former U.S. automobile racer known for being one of nine drivers to win the prestigious Indianapolis 500 mile race at least three times. Rutherford won that race in 1974, 1976, and 1980.

Eddie Cheever, Jr. is an American racing driver who raced for almost thirty years in Formula One, sports cars, CART and the Indy Racing League. Cheever participated in 143 World Championship F1 races and started 132, more than any other American. In 1997 he formed his own IRL team and won the 1998 Indianapolis 500 as both owner and driver.

Al Unser, Jr. was born into a racing family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is the son of Al Unser and the nephew of Bobby Unser, both Indianapolis 500 winners themselves. At the age of 24, Unser was the youngest IROC champion ever. Unser won the 24 Hours of Daytona, also at age 24 for the first time in 1986 and again in 1987. Unser would have his day at Indy in 1992, winning by 0.043 of a second, the closest finish in Indianapolis 500 history.
